A.I. 2.0 Shutdown

Via Nick Borges of ESPN...

Andre Iguodala has been dealing with right Achilles tendinitis all season and it is bad enough that the 76ers will completely shut him down from all basketball activity until Jan. 10.
"What we did was, when he went and got a second opinion, both doctors were in agreement that if he's going to take some time off, give it a significant amount of time," head coach Doug Collins told The Philadelphia Inquirer. "What happened last time was he took seven or eight days off and he was feeling much better, [but] he came back and he didn't get it out of his system."
The layoff for Iguodala means he'll miss at least five games. Iguodala's name has been in the rumor mill and this injury can't help the 76ers if they're trying to find a good deal for him.

This could be a make or break stretch for the 76ers in terms of this season.  With the team currently in 9th place in the Eastern Conference (1/2 game behind Milwaukee), it will be interesting if they fall back more in the playoff race and decide to to become sellers at the trade deadline.  Iguodala would make a great consolation prize to any team that doesn't win the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes.
