Anthony says no to MJ

Via Ryan Corazza of ESPN...

We've previously noted a report that Bobcats owner Michael Jordan was perhaps looking to get in the mix to acquire Carmelo Anthony via trade.
But according to sources speaking to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, Anthony informed Jordan via a representative that he doesn't have interest in playing in Charlotte or signing an extension with the club.
"The Bobcats figured their chances of getting Anthony to sign an extension were slim, but explored the possibility anyway given that Anthony has had a good relationship with Jordan as one of his product line's top endorsers," wrote Spears.
As such, continue to expect the Nets to have the best shot at landing Anthony via trade with Charlotte pretty much out of the picture.

Guess we can scratch off the Bobcats off the lists of teams after Melo.  It seems the Nets are still in the lead in terms of what package they can put together but the thinking continues to be that Melo only wants to be a Knicks.  Check out this great article by Dan L of The Knicks FanBlog where he explains why the Knicks trading for Carmelo would be more beneficial than waiting to sign him in Free Agency.  http://www.knicksfan.net/?p=4432
